Lionel Messi was on the receiving end of a potential career ending tackle on Thursday, September 2, 2021 when Argentina faced Venezuela in the 2022 World Cup Qualifier.
A Lionel Messi inspired performance resulted in a 3-1 victory for Argentina. However, a lot of football fans were left wondering what Lionel Messi’s legs are made of after he survived a potential career ending tackle in the first half from Venezuelan player, Adrian Martinez.
Adrian Martinez, a substitute had been on the pitch for only 7 minutes when he caught Messi on the shin with an extremely awful tackle which can be seen below;

The tackle has since been described by Marca as the worst tackle Messi has received in his career.
Thank goodness Messi was able to play the full 90 minutes….probably, with some bruises.
