Logic Announces An Eminem Collaboration Dropping This Week

“Homicide” will be the artists’ first time working together.

Logic surprised fans today by announcing that his new single, “Homicide,” is dropping this Friday with a feature from Eminem. It’s set to be the artists’ first collaboration, although Logic has often cited Em as an inspiration on his career.

“Homicide” will be Logic’s third single from his upcoming album, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, following the project’s title track and “Keanu Reaves.”

The two artists met for the first time earlier this year, when Logic opened for Em at a concert in Hawaii:

After the show, Logic reflected on meeting his “idol”:

This is a letter to the world telling you all today a Kid from Maryland met his idol and it was everything he always dreamt it would be. Em, if you’re reading this I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you. I’ll never forget the experience and I’m more than happy and ecstatic to now call you my homie! Thank you for the kindness and wise words. #RapkinNaNapk

Eminem previously mentioned Logic on 2018’s “Fall.” He listed the Maryland MC alongside a class of new rappers Em believes he inspired:

I belong here, clown! Don’t tell me ‘bout the culture!
I inspired the Hopsins, the Logics, the Coles, the
Seans, the K-Dots, the 5’9″s, and oh
Brought the world 50 Cent, you did squat, piss and moan
But I’m not gonna fall… bitch!

“I was pretty chill about it… but of course I’m ecstatic,” he told HardKnockTVabout the shoutout in 2018. “It was awesome and amazing to be recognized by one of my favorite MCs of all time, one of my favorite artists… I fuck with him. I want to work with him. I want to do a song with him. I think that could be pretty cool.”

Logic hasn’t worked directly with Eminem before, although he did step in for the rapper on the remix of Royce da 5’9”’s “Caterpillar” last year, replacing Em’s original verse.
