Government has directed the closure of all schools in the country until further notice. This measure is a step to addressing the corona virus outbreak.
However, B.E.C.E and WASSCE candidates will be allowed to attend school and prepare for the examinations but with prescribed social distancing protocols.
In a televised address on Sunday night President Akufo- Addo also suspended all public gatherings including conference, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies and church activities for the next four weeks .
He further assured that public education is being intensified to ensure that citizens are well advised on preventive measures.
Earlier on Sunday, the Director of Public Health at Ghana Health Service, Dr. Badu Sarkodie had announced that additional four cases had been confirmed making the number of cases recorded in the country at the moment six. All the cases were imported into the country.
Five of the cases were confirmed in the Greater Accra Region while the remaining one was confirmed in the Ashanti Region.
