Pan African Edutainers embark on a global Black Beauty Tour.

Oakland, California USA, June 2017

Oakland based Artists and Educators Candice “Antique” Davis and Hodari Davis are traveling from the United States to several countries around the world, on a campaign to celebrate and affirm Black Beauty.

Next month these longtime social activists will be performing live concerts, hosting festivals and conferences, and leading workshops in Uganda and Ghana, as part of the first leg of the Candice Antique World Tour.

This tour and campaign is focused on promoting Pan African identity, with an emphasis on the unity of Black people represented in their hair. The premiere song “Nappy” is an ode to natural Black beauty and features new music from Candice Antique produced and recorded in Ghana, West Africa.

Candice Antique is an international recording artist with over 20 years experience as a thought leader and practitioner in the field of Equity and Arts Education. This will be her third time touring in Africa, having delivered concerts in Ghana and Zanzibar in over the past two years.

Together they are founders of Edutainment For Equity, an Arts Based Professional Development Firm based in Oakland.

Hodari Davis said, “We intend to use culture, art, and education as tools to make an impact on the challenges we see when we travel and when we are at home.”
