The National Elections Committee of the Musicians Union of Ghana has announced the list of eleven candidates contesting for the MUSIGA national elections scheduled for June 26. The election will take place nationwide in all the ten old regions.
The final list has two candidates vying for the President, 1st and 2nd Vice President slots and the General Secretary. Below is the final list of candidates:
- Gifty Ghansah National Welfare Officer
- Rev Edward Edusa-Eyison National Treasurer
- Chizzy Nii Adu Wailer National Organizer
- Sylvia Bosompem Amponsah General Secretary
- Samuel Kofi Agyemang General Secretary
- Deborah Freeman 2nd Vice President
- Ruth Benny Wood 2nd Vice President
- Rev Dr. Harry Thomas Yawson 1st Vice President
- Richard Karikari Mensah 1st Vice President
- Bessa Simons – President
- Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi – President
According to the chairman of the National Elections Committee, Smart Nkansah, “The vetting exercise was very insightful and the committee was satisfied with the general level of enthusiasm and commitment to improving the Union displayed by the candidates.”
