Richard Mensah, popularly known in the showbiz fraternity as Mc Candy was born on the 11^th of October, 1987 in Elmina. These accolades; Odogwu Hypeman, Energy gad, Crowd controller are what his fans have carved for him due to his performances on stage. Mc Candy had his secondary education at Edinaman Secondary School in the Central Region. He furthered his education at the Komenda College of Education for a Diploma in Education and later got a degree from the University of Education Winneba. He is currently a professional facilitator at Ghana Education Service.

Between 2014 and 2017, Mc Candy singlehandedly organized a talent show for kids in the basic schools in Abrem Agona. For four consecutive years he had trained the kids in music, dancing, acting and poem recital. All events were successful and this helped the kids develop their talents of which some have gone into professional music and acting. He couldn’t keep up with the show due to financial constraints as he was the sole financer. From this you can tell he had a strong passion for entertainment.

Mc Candy has always been funny and this is evident in the programs he has hosted. He now doubles as a Mc and a hype man. His versatility is top notch as he can host cooperate events, entertainment shows, gospel shows, wedding events, club events and others. Mc Candy started MCing from 2016 and till date, has hosted a lot of events and continues to be one of the best MCs in Ghana. He has also featured in several movies and series. He has worked with comic actors like Alatiawe and Effua Nkoso. During his music days, he collaborated with other talented acts like Boggy Wenzday and Bubulubu. He’s now into full-time MCing and hype as he had to quit music due to personal reasons.
