Fleabag creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge also found herself among the winners after triumphing in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category for her stand-out performance.

The show, which charts the unpredictable love life of a single woman living in London, also came out on top in the category for Best Comedy Series, while Andrew Scott was named Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

James Corden and his hugely popular Late Late Show shared the Best Talk Show prize with Seth Meyers.

Other winners included Jeremy Strong, whose performance in Succession saw him named Best Actor in a Drama Series, and Regina King who bagged Best Actress in a Drama Series for Watchmen.

Martin Scorcese’s The Irishman won Best Acting Ensemble; the Netflix movie’s only award of the night, despite being up for 14 prizes.
