Kofi Kinaata Bags VGMA Songwriter of the Year 4 Consecutive Times

Lyrical Musician and Highlife artiste, One of Ghana’s favorite artiste by stage name Kofi Kinaata, has made history by winning the Songwriter of the Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) once again he has Consecutively won adding up to a total tally of four.

Kofi Kinaata was in that nomination competition from other musicians like Diana Hamilton, Adina, Joe Mettle, Abiana, and Epixode who were in the same category, Songwriter of the Year during the first phase of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ceremony with his hit song, “Behind The Scenes”.

As a result of these features, he has recorded his name in the history books of VGMA by winning the award four times, breaking the Music maestro, Kojo Antwi’s record after he had won it three times, with Okyeame Kwame winning it twice.

Clearly, he first wrote his name in the book by winning it in 2016, after releasing his hit song, “Susuka”, a song produced by Kindee in October 2015.

He further went on to win it again for the consecutive time in 2017, with another nationwide banger, Confession. However, in 2018, Ebony won it and was followed up by King Promise in 2019.

So, in 2017 he won two other awards namely Highlife Song of the Year and Highlife Artiste of the Year with the same song.

The Ghanaian Tadi who is currently enjoying a lot of airplay with his new single, “The Grace” keep to win for me on all the consecutive year even in 2020, he won it with the “Things Fall Apart” tune and in 2021, “Behind The Scene” also follows
