Gyakie was born in Bompso, a town in Kumasi in 1998. She comes from Abuakwa, another town in Kumasi.

Gyakie is the daughter of Ghanaian music legend, Ernest Owoahene Nana Acheampong. Her father used to be a member of a popular band, Lumba Brothers.

Growing up, Gyakie had shown signs that she would take after her father as a musician. Because she had a clear voice while growing up.

She was a lively member of her church’s choir and served as of its lead vocalists.

Gyakie finished her primary education in Kumasi (Ashanti Region). She studied at TI Amass for her secondary school education and obtained her West African School Certificate from the same institution.

She graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology with a bachelor’s degree in International Business.

Career

Gyakie joined the Ghanaian music industry full-time in 2019. Her debut single was “Love Is Pretty”. The song (Love Is Pretty) made waves in local radio and TV stations for some weeks.

Her debut EP titled “SEED” was released on August 7, 2020. The EP is a five-track project that showed Gyakie experimented with different genres.

In February 2020, she featured leading artist Bisa Kdei on her single, “Sor Mi Mu“. Other artists she has worked with include Elom ‘E.L’ Adablah and Kuvie.

She became known nationwide after dropping the hit single, Forever.

In the last two years, Gyakie has performed on major shows in Ghana such as Rapperholic, Tidal Rave, Repu Hall Week, amongst others.

She is currently signed unto Flip The Music Entertainment.

Gyakie was featured on “Nigeria’s One Tribe Magazine” and “Red Bull South Africa”. Flip The Music artist has been a guest on Focus On Africa produced by BBC.

Her EP combined on major music platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Audio Mack, Boomplay, and YouTube has over eleven million streams.
